Lead Cloud Engineer

About the Team The Cloud Engineering Team supports the infrastructure foundation, reliability, and scalability of all products provided by Mico. The team is responsible for the infrastructure across the entire product portfolio, including new products as well as existing and legacy systems. In this role, you will be expected to formulate growth strategies for the team or critical projects and lead the organization from a technical perspective. Cloud Engineering covers the following three complementary areas, aiming for a team that operates cross-functionally without silos: Infrastructure : AWS-centered cloud architecture, network & compute, cost optimization, compliance with security requirements DevOps : CI/CD pipelines, automation & tooling, release management, improving Developer Experience (DevEx) SRE : SLI/SLO and error budget management, incident response, observability, post-mortems Key Responsibilities Formulating team and project growth strategies, and executing them by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders Leading technical projects that deliver measurable outcomes Leading cross-functional projects Designing and improving systems to enhance stability and scalability Managing reliability goals through the definition and operation of SLIs/SLOs and error budgets Incident response Systematizing and standardizing RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and establishing a blameless post-mortem culture Designing and improving the observability foundation (metrics, logs, traces) Enhancing development team productivity through CI/CD pipelines and release management improvements Visualizing and optimizing cloud costs Collaborating with the company-wide security team to ensure and implement security compliance Collaborating with development and product teams Sharing knowledge and best practices through documentation Minimum Qualifications Experience in designing, building, and operating systems using cloud services (AWS, etc.) Experience building infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, etc.) Experience designing, building, and operating CI/CD and DevOps pipelines Advanced debugging and troubleshooting skills Deep understanding of system architecture Experience making technical decisions and driving initiatives at the team or project level Ability to build consensus and engage cross-functional stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience designing and operating SLIs/SLOs and error budgets Experience establishing incident response frameworks and on-call operations Experience designing, building, and operating observability platforms (New Relic, Sentry, CloudWatch, etc.) Experience designing, building, and operating systems using container technologies such as Docker Proven track record of cloud cost optimization Automation experience using scripting languages Experience designing and implementing security measures Tech Stack Cloud Infrastructure : AWS IaC : Terraform, AWS SAM Containers : Docker, Kubernetes Monitoring & Observability : New Relic, Sentry, AWS CloudWatch, Grafana CI/CD : GitHub Actions Ideal Candidate Ability to look beyond existing paradigms and formulate problem-solving strategies from a high-level perspective High integrity, accountability, and strong sense of ownership Ability to structure thoughts, articulate ideas clearly, and produce tangible output Ability to work autonomously in an asynchronous, document-first communication culture Open and transparent communication style Strong leadership skills to drive projects forward while rallying others around them
