Frontend Engineer (New Bank Project)

**About the company:** PayPay Minato-ku, Tokyo With over 70M million registered users (as of July 2025), PayPay is the country’s most popular mobile wallet used by approximately one out of every two smartphone users in Japan. **Responsibilities:** Work with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Engineers, and QA Engineers to deliver features. Review product requirements and Figma designs, and suggest improvements. Design and implement frontend solutions using Vue.js and TypeScript. Align API requirements with Backend Engineers. Work with QA Engineers on testing and issue resolution. Monitor released features and resolve production issues. Participate in code reviews and improve frontend best practices. Requirements At least 4 years of industry experience developing secure web frontend applications in JavaScript and/or other transpile-to-JavaScript languages. At least 1 year of industry experience with VueJS (preferred), or React. Software engineering best practices and computer science knowledge. Business level of English. Hands-on experience with AI/LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, CodeWhisperer, or similar) in professional software development. Nice to haves While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following. Experience with frontend performance monitoring and optimization. Experience with iOS or Android development, either with the native toolkits or with a framework such as React Native. Experience with designing server side RESTful APIs. Experience with web hosting infrastructure such as CDNs. Ability to conduct business in Japanese (native-level proficiency or equivalent to JLPT N1/N2). Proven track record of integrating AI-assisted development into system design and delivery. Contributions to AI-related open-source projects or automation of workflows with AI is a plus.
