Senior Product Engineer, Employee Platform Department, PPD, Kyoto

**About the company:** Money Forward Minato-ku, Tokyo Money Forward is a fintech startup delivering tools to visualize and improve both individuals'​ and companies'​ financial health. **Responsibilities:** Lead the technical direction and architecture for the MyPage product together with the Technical Lead. Design and implement scalable, robust, and maintainable full-stack solutions, primarily using Go, GraphQL, and React. Drive the transition toward a product-led development model from a technical perspective. Integrate and leverage AI development tools to improve team productivity while establishing guardrails to ensure code quality and security. Collaborate closely with cross-functional, distributed team members (Product Managers, Designers, QA, and Engineers in Kyoto, Tokyo, and Vietnam). Monitor production environments using Datadog, and troubleshoot/recover systems efficiently when issues arise. Conduct code reviews, mentor peers, and elevate the overall engineering standards of the team. Maintain and occasionally support legacy systems built in Kotlin as needed. Requirements Computer Science/Engineering Bachelor’s degree or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on experience in backend development using Go. Full-stack mindset with the ability to contribute to frontend tasks when necessary. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound architectural decisions. Business level English proficiency for daily communication with global teams (TOEIC score of 700 or above equivalent). Nice to haves While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following. Experience with frontend development using React and TypeScript. Experience with GraphQL. Experience with Kotlin (for maintaining legacy products). Experience introducing AI tools into development workflows. Experience working in a globally distributed Agile/Scrum team.
