**About the company:** Mantra Bunkyo City, Tokyo We want to make manga accessible to people regardless of what language they speak. That is why we're researching new machine translation solutions and developing an English-language learning service based around manga. **Responsibilities:** Research and development projects including Open-sourced LLM models Automatic evaluation methods for entertainment MT Multimodal MT for manga / comics OCR for onomatopoeia on manga / comics ML-based typesetting engine for manga translation Requirements PhD in CS, EE, or equivalent fields Experience as the first author in top conferences such as ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, IJCAI Experience in development with advanced technologies such as LLMs and diffusion models Experience in application development such as web services Conversational Japanese language skills. You’ll occasionally speak with our clients in Japanese, but we don’t expect you to be fully fluent in the language. Nice to haves While not specifically required, tell us if you have any of the following.
