HENNGE’s Global Internship Program (GIP) is an on-site software engineering training program designed and run by HENNGE, a cloud security company based in Tokyo. The program is created for students and early-career engineers who want to strengthen their front-end engineering skills in a global, English-speaking environment at HENNGE’s Shibuya office. This Front-End Pathway focuses on hands-on application development training using TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (such as React or Vue), with mentorship from HENNGE’s experienced engineers. The program emphasizes self-learning, explanation, and collaboration rather than production work. Japanese is not required. If you are interested in HENNGE’s GIP: Full-Stack Engineering Pathway instead, please check it out here: https://japan-dev.com/jobs/hennge/hennge-global-internship-program-onsite-tokyo-japan-42q8i0 What You’ll Learn & Practice During the program, you will: Develop front-end applications as part of structured training projects using TypeScript with React or Vue Practice key front-end engineering concepts, including: Form validation Data fetching State management Learn, at a practical level, how front-end applications interact with back-end services and cloud infrastructure Explain your technical decisions, trade-offs, and problem-solving approach during discussions and reviews Receive feedback from mentors and improve your implementation iteratively Our Stance on AI and Software Engineering AI tools can be helpful, but the goal of HENNGE’s Global Internship Program (GIP) is to help you build strong software engineering fundamentals. To support that learning, we ask you not to use AI tools to generate code for training assignments or solution implementations. The code you submit should be written by you and reflect your own understanding. You may use a designated AI service to support your learning in non-code-generating ways, such as clarifying technical concepts, understanding documentation, or helping with non-essential tasks (for example, command-line options). Throughout the program, you’ll be expected to take ownership of your code and clearly explain your thinking, trade-offs, and design decisions. In this learning environment, you are the engineer and the final gatekeeper of quality. Internship schedule We open batches multiple times a year. Available batch (as of Feb 20) Batch 5 (2026): Nov 16 - Dec 18 (5 weeks) How to apply Register through the apply button below and verify your email address. Solve the coding challenge and submit your work with your CV and cover letter. An HR interview followed by an online interview, will be given to those who pass Step 2. Before you apply: Your CV and cover letter are your chance to show us your story. Clear, thoughtful explanations of your experiences will make your application stronger, while generic submissions may not fully reflect your potential. We suggest reviewing this guide to help you present your best self: https://hennge.com/global/info/henka/interview/202403-crafting-the-perfect-cover-letter/ Notice for Applicants A limited number of internship slots are available. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to apply early, as applications will close once all positions are filled . The coding challenge has no time limit, and the screening process will not consider solving time. Please note that the application is completed after uploading application documents and filling in the batch preferences. Please take another challenge if you are (also) interested in applying for HENNGE’s GIP: Full Stack Engineering Pathway. Please use different emails to sign up if you apply for both internships.
