Hashigo-nori is a traditional performance that attempts to pass on the techniques and methods of firemen in the Edo period. The performance is held every year on a coming-of-age day (the second Monday of January) in front of the main hall of the Ikegami Honmonji by the Omori Steeplejack Association. Don’t miss their acrobatic performances on top of a 6m bamboo ladder only supported by ground crews using hooked wooden poles. There will be guidance in English and French on the day of the event.
