Georges Rouault (1871 – 1958) was a renowned French painter and printmaker who is often associated with the Expressionism and Fauvism art movements. His works frequently focused on religious themes and social commentary, inspired by his Catholic faith. To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the Panasonic Shiodome Museum will be hosting a special exhibition featuring around 70 pieces of Rouault’s artwork, including works on loan from museums in France and Japan. Adult admission to the exhibition is priced at ¥1200, with advance reservations available for specific dates and times. Visitors who attend on May 18th, which is International Museum Day, can take advantage of discounted admission at ¥500.
